“Yoga practice is a time for me to reflect on my core needs, beliefs, and desires that truly matter most. It awakens and enlivens my senses as I become in harmony with my true nature and potential through self-evaluation and clear perspective. Yoga is a personal, intimate, and individual path to peace, transformation, and tranquility.
My yoga practice is the only time in my day-to-day life that completely frees me from meaningless and negative thoughts. It allows me to take time out to renew my mind, revive my body, and replenish my spirit. It is a time to be in the present, not constantly worrying about my endless to-do list. Yoga continually challenges me physically, spiritually, and emotionally.
Each time I practice, it is a new experience. My practice empowers me as I gradually develop self-control, connection, understanding, and mastery. It is a means of aligning the power of the mind, spirit, and body together to find truth and see things as they really are. When practicing yoga, I feel increased energy, vitality, and health benefits as well as a deep and unexplainable connection and awareness to the feelings and emotions of my inner most heart, spirit, and mind that are constantly buried and suppressed by a busy lifestyle. Yoga is a life-long journey of discipline, consistency, and practice that brings peace and fulfillment to everyday life." Written by ZACI student Gina Brown, St. George, Utah
