My passion, my paradise, my peace
Kari was raised in Western Wisconsin where she spent her childhood riding horses and exploring the outdoors. She graduated from the U of WI at River Falls with a degree in Park Management with an emphasis in Recreation and a teaching degree in Physical Education. While living in River Falls, WI, Rick and Kari started their family in what they thought was their forever home. When the kids were older she began teaching at the local schools, working as a naturalist at a WI State Park and teaching fitness at a local health club. Somewhere in this adventure of life she and Emma (her daughter) stepped onto a yoga mat. This forever changed her life and those around her. Emma took the plunge first and completed her 200 and 300 hours of training to become a yoga teacher.
After Rick’s retirement, Kari and Rick began to explore the US but didn’t get far. Their first winter of travels led them to St. George, Utah where they fell in love with the Snow Canyon State Park and surrounding area. As often happens, the things you don’t plan for are often the best experiences. Kari and Rick left WI and moved to Ivins into their second forever home giving them the opportunity to live and active lifestyle and enjoy the outdoors all year long. Kari’s first quest was to find a yoga studio. Following the advice of her friend, Debbie Bannon, she found ZACI. It was at ZACI, that she decided to follow in her daughter’s footsteps and complete her 200 hour yoga certification at ZACI (Zion Academy of Certified Instruction). Kari plans to complete her advanced 500-hour yoga certification in the future but for right now it is her honor to be able to teach at ZACI and share her love of yoga, life and wellness with others.
